Appointments
As you are aware appointments are at 10 minute intervals and we endeavour to deal with your problems as thoroughly as we can bearing this in mind. We would be most grateful if you would consider this when looking at the number of issues that you need to bring to the consultation.
If you feel that you cannot discuss all your issues please bring it to the attention of your GP.
Please note: Appointment requests for smears should be with a nurse.
We have a dedicated text number for you to use if you wish to cancel an appointment, it is 07826 699487: please text your details and we will cancel your appointment.
Health Screening
We would like to encourage patients to take part in NHS Screening invitations as much as possible. Recent figures show our patients were below the local average for uptake in screening for Cervical, Breast, Diabetic Eye and Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm. NHS screening has an important part to play in detecting early changes in conditions as well as cancers, hence is a valuable service.
Cold Calling
Market Harborough and Bosworth Partnership does not endorse any cold call enquiries from firms that may wish to sell medical services or equipment.
Free NHS Health Checks
Helping you prevent heart disease, stroke, diabetes, kidney disease and dementia.
This check is part of a national scheme to prevent the onset of these health problems. Everyone between the ages of 40 and 74 who has not been diagnosed with the conditions mentioned will be invited for a check once every five years.
The check will take about 20 minutes. You will be asked simple questions about your family history and lifestyle which may put your health at risk. We will record your height, weight, age, sex and ethnicity and do a simple blood test to check your cholesterol level.
After the check we will discuss how you can reduce your risk and stay healthy. You’ll be given your results and told what they mean, some people may be asked to return at a later date for their results and will be given personalised advice on how to lower their risk and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Treatment or medication might be prescribed to help maintain your health.

Patient Participation Group
We are keen to encourage our patients to make a positive contribution to the services and facilities offered at the Market Harborough Medical Centre and have set up a Patient Participation Group (PPG).
The group currently consists of 10 patients from different diverse patient groups. We would particularly like younger people and/or teenagers to join the group. The idea is to work with the medical, nursing and other support staff within the practice to raise any ideas and issues and to help patients take more responsibility for their own health.
Currently the Patient Participation Group meets bi-monthly. A PPG Notice Board is situated in the waiting rooms. These include details of PPG activities and minutes of PPG Meetings.
The Patient Participation Group held their AGM on Tuesday 20th March 2018. Barbara Johnson was elected as Chair and Annette Rogers Vice Chair.
If you would like to contact the PPG please use the Comments and Suggestions Form Below (please mark for the attention of the PPG):-
